Landowner rights.
They aren’t just important to Doug Schieffer; they are important to all Minnesotans as well! His desire is to be able to take off and land his “small class” Bell206 L4 helicopter on his own 9.7-acre property, right in the same bay as an airport (Seaplane Base identifier M16) at Scenic Drive and Floan Point Road in East Gull Lake. Doug has taken every conceivable precaution in his helipad application with the environment, noise reduction, and with nearby residents as to not be a nuisance to anyone. We hope you will support landowner rights, and learn more about his plan as he urges EGL to reconsider his request for a change in the EGL Land-Use Ordinance to include Helipads as a Conditional Use Permit (CUP). We all have rights…what rights could you potentially lose??
